Long Lasting, Easy to Clean

The Fizik Microtex Handlebar tape is made out of a leather-like material that is smooth and perforated. What sets it apart is the incredible durability and how easy it is to clean. The material is smooth enough that a soapy rag will restore it to nearly new condition in minutes.

The main downsides are the lack of any stretch. Installation is more tricky than some because you can pull it and coax it around brake hoods or tight curves. The smooth surface is relatively grippy, but very sweaty hands without gloves make for a grip more slippery than regular cork tape. The tape is also relatively firm compared to most cork tapes. Finally, it is quite a bit more expensive.

Overall, it is a great handlebar tape. If you are looking for something long lasting and easy to clean the Fizik Microtex is an excellent choice.

Very nice tape, I have the non-glossy white, easy to clean, great grip. However the big thing is the lack of padding. I bought some gel gloves that solved that one. You can definitely feel the bars especially when sprinting! I actually like that. Not a mushy feel at all. It is a tough, durable tape. Works well.

Great grip, low profile

There are two versions of tape on this page, one matte and one semi-glossy. Both have great grip and look good too, but the matte one absorbs sweat and other liquids quite readily and is a bad choice for those who ride in the rain or ride without gloves.

I have purchased both types and much prefer the semi-glossy type, which is easier to clean.

Great grip, but a little thin

The grip is outstanding, some of the best that I have found. However, it is a very thin tape, and for me shock absorbing wasn't so much an issue, but getting used to a smaller diameter on my grip. Once I got used to it I was mostly fine, but if you have larger hands and like having a good diameter on your bars, then that is something to consider.

Nice texture, poor padding, less forgiving.

The texture and appearance of this tape are very nice, but there is little cushioning (for those who care), and the lack of elasticity makes tidy installation much more difficult. EVA foam ("gel") tapes are much easier to deal with, and more comfortable, in my opinion.

Pretty, but not as practical as others.

The texture and appearance of this tape are nice, but there is very little padding (for those who care), and the lack of elasticity makes tidy installation somewhat more challenging. It's much easier to wrap EVA/foam ("gel") type tapes, and I have generally switched to those over this style.

Great value tape

Given the low price, this tape is pretty good. I prefer it on a time trial set-up over a purely road set-up. Don't get this tape if you're looking for a lot of comfort. This tape is bare-bones tapes as it is fairly lightweight while providing functionality and some grip. I have the white tape and it cleans better than any cork tape in white. It generally also stays cleaner and remains white with age.

Great handlebar tape

I am a big fizik fan. I love their saddles and so I decided to give the tape a try. I have the microtex in black and not only does it look great, but it feels amazing. I would choose this over regular cork tape any day.

great tape!

This tape is great. has a huge range of colour options as well as being easy to apply.

If you want a tape to match your kit/saddle or bike this is the stuff for you!

Not too bad

Made from the same material Fizik have on their saddle 'uppers'...Can be a little slippery when wet, but is super strong and can be re-wrapped with ease (this stuff is not like the cork bar wraps)

Easy to keep clean and doesn't stretch like cheaper bar wraps. Good for dry weather riding and no gloves riders
