These came stock on my bike, rode a season with no major sign of wear and tear and no punctures, however, when I upgraded noticed a huge difference. I'll keep one or two of these around for an emergency because of the price but that's about it.

Hit and miss.....

I've got mixed experience of these.....

On my single speed I've done at least a 2000 miles on these through city streets over glass, pebbles, cuttings etc and not had a puncture (touch wood). They aren't even worn through yet, although showing signs of ageing now after almost 2 years!

On my road bike I got 3 different punctures in the first two rides.

In conclusion I say they can be good but once they start to get stuff in them they need to be replaced.

In terms of performance they aren't as good as more expensive tyres. Less grip, don't feel as quick, heavier, but then you pay for what you get!

Real bad tire

1

I put this on two of my bikes and I end up patching inner tube almost after every ride. The tires offer no protection at all, i don't usually get a lot of flats but ever since I put these tires on my bikes it's one flat after another. No way will I buy this tire again.

Not bad!

I bought these tires mainly to use in the Spring when the roads out here in Canada haven't been swept yet and there is still lots of gravel on the roads. They're definitely not a tire for racing, but they serve the purpose for which I bought them for...., they're definitely tougher than my Vittoria Corsa tires..

good only on very smooth pavement

Decent grip while cornering, average rolling resistance and very, very prone to punctures. Passing 100psi of air pressure sidewall will get "bubbles" period. They are good only for one week of riding after you pick your new bike. I live in Denver, Colorado, and this tire cannot handle Rocky Mountain roads, period !!!!

Terrible tires. Stay away

1

These came stock on my bike. Rode about 50 miles total. Check my bike the next day and both tires are flat. I inspect the tires and remove 6 small pebbles that got embedded into the tires and a small piece of glass. There is no puncture protection and I bought a set of Michelin Krylion Tires to replace them. If you enjoy picking debris off your tires and patching tubes or ride your road bike not on the street go ahead and get these tires. If you like riding your bike on the road go look at something else.

Ultra Sport, yeah right?

I bough set of these (23mm - black) to replace stock tires that came with my Langster. I though that these would be good value for the money and I also hoped they will last a bit longer that the stock tires that I was replacing (lasted ~1500km).

I didn't make too much research on these since I have always though that Continental knows their thing, also name "ultra sport" sounded quite cool =)

Unfortunately the reality is that these tires seems to be eating small stones like a vacuum cleaner. It's seems like the rubber compound that is used in these tires is just way too soft and fragile to withstand outdoor road life. Furthermore there is no puncture protection layer (I though this is standard in all tires now a days) in side to tire, so these small stones will end up killing your inner tube really easily. I have driven about 700km with these now and both tires are full of small holes and small cuts. I have had 7 punctures so far which is quite much more that I'm willing to tolerate.

So in case you are planning to use our tires outdoors I would recommend something with proper puncture protection =) Maybe GP 4000S model would be better?

These were stock tires that came with my road bike. They lasted 2400km. They're pretty durable at first but soon deteriorate quite quickly. I started getting flats every alternate day once they started to near the end of their life.
The grip in the wet is pretty average although I haven't had any slips/mishaps. I've taken some pretty nasty corners in the wet the tires seemed to keep me upright.
The sidewalls rapidly deteriorated after maybe 1500kms (in my case).
Overall, an average tire.

A surprisingly good tire

Tires that come with your bike are usually low thread count, wire bead, high rolling resistance. When I got these on my bike however, they were nice, durable, easy rolling, and they're inexpensive to replace. Mounting them, another thing that conti does well is that you can just roll tires on, even when they're brand new. Really great set of tires to just eat up the mileage without breaking the bank.
