Finally, a power meter that doesn't mess up your bike and empty out your wallet.
PowerPod is the first power meter that attaches to your handlebars--no need to change your crank, wheel, pedals, or bottom bracket. Delivers both-leg accuracy on par with both-leg power meters costing 5 times as much, and accuracy superior to one-leg power meters.
PowerPod is the only power meter that moves effortlessly from bike to bike. It works with any ANT+ bike computer, and is the only power meter that doesn't cost a fortune.
How PowerPod works
PowerPod measures, up to 800 times per second, the opposing forces caused by hills, wind, acceleration, and friction. Opposing forces, matched identically by the forces applied by both legs, determine the cyclist's power.
Easy to Install
You don't have to swap-out your wheels, crank, pedals, or bottom bracket, and there's no gluing or water bags either.

PowerPod wirelessly sends its accurate, both-leg power measurements to your ANT+ bike computer, such as Garmin or Bryton.
Easy to Use
PowerPod has just one button, and a single LED status light. When you're ready to ride click the button; PowerPod confirms it's ready by the green status light. Green means go!
PowerPod includes an internal, rechargeable battery. You'll get about 20 hours of continuous riding, then recharge PowerPod from any USB charger.
Velocomp power measurement technology has been used by some of the top pro-cycling teams in the world. PowerPod incorporates the same, both-leg measurement sensors and circuitry used in our pro-level Newton+ products.
PowerPod accuracy is on-par with power meters costing 5 times as much, and superior to one-leg power meters.

Just got into road cycling and while researching bikes came across an article in regards to using a power meter to enhance your road riding. I was intrigued so decided to check out the use of a power meters and I soon realised that most of the power meters on the market were like way to expensive for a weekend warrior like myself. I then stumbled across an article by DC Rainmaker who did an in depth review of the Powerpod and also another good review by Bike test reviews online as well that also gave the Powerpod a thumbs up. After much research I decided that the Powerpod offered the most bang for your buck so decided to take the plunge and purchased one when I got my new road bike. I have to say what a fantastic product the Powerpod is, works as intended and is a really good tool to use. I had to get a GPS head unit, out front bracket ,speed sensor and cadence sensor as well which made the cost a bit more but was able to get them pretty cheap over the internet so still came under the cost of the other power meters. I also ordered a book called " how to train with a power meter" which I reckon is a must have item as well as it makes sense in how to use the power meter properly. Overall very happy with the Powerpod does as its claimed and in the end a power meter is used as a pacing tool so when you get your head around the concept of how it works the benefits to your cycling is immense!
took awhile to calibrate power pod as the instructions was not applicable to newer garmin models overall the product provides a good insight on several aspects of power readings. unlike other power meters where user needs to change crank arms or fit sensors of varies sizes to the crank. this device is easy to mount (universal) below cycling computers.
Purchased and delivered in under 8 days. Very simple to sync with my Garmin and I now have power reading to further assist in my training
This is a piece of junk! Not only does it work intermittently, if it works at all, but according the product manual, it has a 20 hour battery life, not the one I have. Twice now I have gone to use it (previous use less than 20 hours) only to find no charge in the battery. One the worst purchases I have made.
Easy to use and no problems if you have a strong signal from the speed sensor. Has a long battery life. Once calibrated just push the button once to wake the sensor up and ride. Just need those numbers to climb...but I think that's up to me!
This power meter was easy to fit and easy to pair with garmin gps. At a fraction of the cost of other power meters it gives a very good measure of the power being expended. Very happy with the device and it is now much easier to gauge the effort being put in. Overall a very good addition to any bike.
As a user of the ibike Newton , the Powerpod meets my needs for a power meter. Using the go pro mount I have a wide choice of accessories to choose from. Support from the manufacturer of the product is excellent with updates available for my ibike Newton and the Powerpod.
After researching the market for as few months and playing with the idea of a power meter, I made the plunge. This review is really in two parts... Do I need a power meter, that is a whole other story. My requirements were to have a power meter that collected accurately related data. The accuracy of the power not so important but to signal and collected the data in relationship to my effort both current and past was important. To this end is a great tool and does exactly what it says. The addition of a power meter is a great additional metric as this one measures the difference in my efforts, and am really happy with the purchase. Concerns I had "Will the unit get in the way" . No it is tucked away. "Is it easy to install". I have an old Garmin 500 and it was easy "Is it accurate". Not too sure as there is nothing to compare it to, but it gives me relative power which is perfect. "Why is it so cheap". Uses a different technology. "It looks a bit bulky". Look at the price difference and everyone asks what it is... I am glad I took the risk and would buy it again and recommend the product. BTW the online support is excellent
