Tasty and handy!

These Bloks work very well! when you bike for a long distance, you need something to give you back the energy you need to keep on going, and these help very well! Eat a few bloks and keep on going! I like to take about 2 each long ride, and it keeps me going and going!

Convenient and Yummy

5

When you stop to eat something mid-ride, you don't want to have to work for it by having to gnaw through a rock-solid energy bar. This is the solution to that problem. They are delicious, easy to scarf down. Also, they don't leave a nasty residue in your mouth like some bars, but rather a subtle remnant of their flavor. With the individual pieces, you can meter out exactly how many calories want to consume by how many Bloks you eat. You may find that they are just too good to save any for later!

What a pain in the mouth

2

The taste is fine. The nutrient profile is a little high in favour of sugar. The delivery method is cumbersome. After eating one, I spend the next 10-minutes trying to suck it off of my teeth.

In the case of a hard ride like a race... The directions say bight in half & swallow. That's fine but what you've done is just dropped two extra large gummy globs into your stomach, which is already struggling to digest anything. So you figure that you'll chew on it to give your stomach an easier time. But not so fast; now that you've chewed on it, you will spend the next 10-minutes sucking it off of your teeth in order to get it down into your stomach. It gets worse, the serving size for a small guy like me is two blocks, step & repeat: chew, suck, bonk during the eternity that it takes for the fuel to make it to my stomach.

Sticking with the race scenario: assuming that you haven't choked on one of these blocks, you now have a package that still has 2-3 servings in it to return to your pocket... good luck.

There are better alternatives to this, I'm fond of liquid fuels. Mix them in your bottle & you get your fuel quick easy & with every sip of water.

For easy rides these would be fine, but if you're on the rivet it is just too much effort & fails to deliver meaningful nutrients in a timely manner.

The most appealing energy food out there

4

These would be the tastiest and most convenient way of getting carbs on board on a long ride. They do have an uncanny ability to stave off hitting the wall on really long training rides. Seem to pack more of a punch than any gels I have tried. The only downside is the price. In terms of effectiveness and taste they are an unquestionable 5/5 for me but on value I give them a solid 4/5.

Easy to eat solid food on the bike

5

These taste great... and thought of eating them is sometimes motivation to go on a long ride. The package is designed so you can so you can squeeze them out and eat them while you are on the go, and that's a nice feature. And like other cliff products, the ingredients are the top quality natural stuff you want on a bike ride.

A good middle ground if you find gels too sickly and bars too much to handle

...I tested the Shot Bloks on a long training ride. It was cold, wet and wind-against. A real energy-sapping day. The sort you hate, but the sort you know will be worth it when you’re storming up a major climb on a sunny day in a few months time. After about two hours of riding, I was feeling tired. I bit off three Shot Bloks - quick chew and easy swallow - and within a few minutes I felt better.
