After spending a fair amount of time trying to find a jacket that was breathable but waterproof enough to allow me to ride in Sydney spring rain I settled on the Fiandre light windstopper jacket. Most reviews I read said it would last an hour in light rain, however I'm not sure how light the rain was in these reviews.(I wonder if light English rain and light Australian rain are rather different things). I purchased this two weeks ago and have tried two rides in a light but steady rain and within ten minutes the arms were soaked through. The body of the jacket fared a little better but still left me fairly damp by the end of my 20 minute trip. Saying that it did breath very well and on the 20 degree days that I rode in, I didn't overheat. It fits well and will be good on the colder windy days in winter. Its Just a pity it isn't quite water tight enough to last my 20 minute ride home from work.
