Good construction and fit

Good construction and fit. Wrist closure snug. Good non-slip grip. Not cheap, hence 4 stars - will get 5 if they last more than one season and are (nearly) as warm as some existing Specialised Sub Zero split finger gloves.

Castelli Estremo cycling gloves

Fit is comfortable and fingers are quite flexible. Easy to slip on and off. Good grip on handlebar and no finger cramping effort when braking. Gloves are warm and windproof.

I cycle glove that works!

Only used once so far but without doubt the best Winter Glove I have ever purchased, and yes they really do keep your fingers warm. They feel snug and let you ride with confidence trough out the ride. I could work the brakes and gears without and trouble. They might have the high price tag but I don't mind in this case because they deliver on functionality and keeping my hands warm and working is critical in helping me ride safe and enjoying those cold sunny days on the saddle. On looks it's Castelli!!!

perform brilliantly

I struggle with cold hands and feet and was fed up of miserable rides ruined by painful fingers. I thought I'd try these as I am a big fan of Gore windstopper garments, but these have the usual styling flair from Castelli too.

So far I have been so pleased I made the change. My last 2 rides have been 2-4 degrees and sunny, then 2-3 degrees and soaking wet. At no point have my hands been anything other than toasty warm, so much so that I cannot believe how good these gloves are. On the warmer ride my hands got quite warm and sweaty - but I did not have to remove the gloves to eat an energy bar as they are not overly bulky to wear. On the second ride the gloves were very wet, these are not waterproof. However, the rain did not reach as far as my fingers and I kept warm despite 2 hours in the rain.

The gloves are lined and when sweaty the lining comes away slightly with your hand, making them a little more fiddly to put back on. However, this is not as bad as other gloves I have tried and a little patience taking them off prevents any problems at all. The fit is good, with long adjustable cuffs to keep wind out. I bought a size large enough to also wear a ski glove liner but so far they have not been required.

Over all these have transformed my riding experience and I would recommend them without hesitation.
