The Cycliq FLY6 is an excellent piece of cycling technology that’s great for commuting and touring. Through combining light and a camera into a single unit, the Cycliq FLY 6 reduces handlebar clutter and offers resounding peace of mind and visibility.

Employing an inbuilt HD camera which captures 60 frames-per-second using 135-degree wide-angle lens, this unit captures every moment of your ride – good and bad. With an improved internal layout to improve stability and six-axis image stabilization technology, you’ll always get the best quality image even when riding on the roughest roads. Thanks to the smart video loop, the camera wipes the oldest footage on your 32GB micro SD card, so you never have to worry about a lack of space. If you do take a tumble, however, the camera locks the footage taken immediately before and after the incident, so you can find out exactly what happened.

FLY 6 keeps you seen in the darkest conditions. Thanks to the three modes – flashing, pulsing and solid, you can tailor the FLY 6 to perfectly suit the light conditions that you’re riding in – from busy city streets to dark rural lanes. Importantly, all these capabilities are controlled by two buttons for ease and simplicity. Using the dedicated companion app, you can keep a tab on battery life left, so you don’t come unstuck. All this is encased within a durable, highly weather-resistant nanotech shell, so you can ride with the FLY 6, even in the worst conditions.

We have a love hate relationship...

I'm on my 2nd unit (1st replaced under warranty). The unit generally works as desired (video quality, etc.), but has some battery life challenges on longer rides (3+ hrs) depending on how you have the unit configured. One flaw based on my experience is with the USB Port being located on the top of the unit (although there's no 'good' location, if it were on the bottom, or rear at least any water / grit would tend to drain and not enter the unit). It is critically important to ensure the rubber gasket is sealed before and during your rides to ensure no contamination. The rubber USB flap can be dislodged by a gloved hand when reaching back to wipe the lens clean when riding on damp or wet roads. Thus, IMHO, the Fly 6 is a 'fair weather' camera. If this one fails, I won't by another one.

It appears to be a very common issue water ingress killing the camera from what I have read else where Mine died after a very light shower.

Video quality and image stabilization is not what I expected. Software interface to edit video and add Garmin data is difficult to use.
