Hard to see how the Cateye Volt 800 could be improved - compact, lightweight, simple to adjust direction and beam mode while riding, easy to disconnect from it's mount. Very good value for money.
Ordering was easy. I was kept up to date as to where the delivery was up to. The item arrived in a relatively good time
Excellent product, with a number of different light intensity options for road riding. As a daily commuter I find the Volt to work extremely well, inclusive of its daytime pulse setting, even on sunny Australian days. My previous light was a Cygolite Dash 450, which although excellent, had a tendency to throw a wider broader beam when on its fixed setting. The Dash has become my helmet front light, mainly due to the versatile rubber strap which is attached to the body of the light. As I understand in order to replicate such a mounting option for the Volt I would need to purchase a separate helmet attachment. Something to consider if you prefer helmet mounting your light. The bracket and attaching mechanism for the Volt appears robust and sturdy with Cateyes patented threaded 'nut' tightening system. It has a affixed rubber pad which offers ample purchase on the handlebar. It has not become lose yet, even with numerous bumps and riding in the wet. More importantly its a all plastic composition, which I prefer over the clamps/brackets that come with 'stainless' steel threaded nuts/screws which inevitably seem to rust. All in all, very pleased with the purchase, and delivery.
I use this for training on unlit roads before the sun comes up. It is more than adequate for after dark riding. I have had the unit for more than a month and I am getting 2 hours 20 minutes out fo the full brightness setting, so, more than the quoted run-time. The beam is spread wide enough to see most of the road and is not too bad around corners. I would like to see it flatter so that it doesn't blind oncoming traffic, but this is certainly better than a fully round beam. the mounting is very secure and simple to use, but it's not a quick release so changing bikes regularly takes a minute or two longer. I looked at a lot of lights before making the purchase and for the money, I don't think I could have done better. It's robust, bright enough and has solid run-time. I am satisfied I have received good value from the purchase.
This item is exceptional value and it's operation is second to none. Very happy with the speedy delivery of the product as well.
I have been using this light for 2 weeks now to commute to work,Start off at 0600 in the dark, just use the lowest setting, it is plenty bright enough for me.Once it starts to get light enough, I like to use the low setting with the flash over it, it is awesome. My commute home in the afternoon I just use the flashing mode, I thing its really good. My riding time for the week is 6 hours and battery life seems very good,Overall I am really impressed with this light, very bright, very light what more could you ask for.
Very powerful and great for pre dawn rides. A little bulkier and heavier for my liking but it's to be expected for that output
Very bright, very long lasting battery, simple mounting The options for operation covers all needs Very impressive
I needed a bright light for early morning cycling on dark roads. I bought the Volt 800 after a lot of research and I'm very happy with it: Its light (some reviews says its heavy but its one of the lightest 800 lumen lights I've used) The mounting is good, but the quick release is just a bit fiddlt to get the light off. The charging port is well located and covered by a good waterproof seal that works well The replaceable battery feature is excellent. The battery life is excellent. Most importantly, its bright, it has a good beam spread and the daylight flash mode is excellent. I would certainly buy this light again if I needed another bright light.
i was recommended this product by my friend and bought it. and i got it and i felt that it was perfect item what i expected. so, if you plan to but some front light, i recommend this product !! thank.
