Scicon Travel Case

The travel case is very good, however the description should have included that the fittings only suited quick release skewers and is unsuitable for thru axle type fittings.

Simple, easy to fit together, light weight bag. Comes with hand pump also. Hope for good baggage handlers.

Tighten the wheels

4

I have travelled with this bag (borrowed) for 3 trips. They are fantastic to travel with. It only takes 10 minutes to pack the bike. The bike has been fine each trip. However, the wheels are very cheap and loose. They fall off easily and most people tell me they have lost wheels. They are loose when you get the bag. The bag itself gets rub holes easily, so is not very robust. However, I still want one, as the ease of use is fantastic. A good tip is to put the seat up high when you travel, and it takes the slack out of the bag, thus less rub holes.

Great Product

Used it for first air trip. Easy to pack and move. Accepted by airline (Qantas domestic) without issue. Bike arrived safely. I turned handles and moved rear derailleur as a precaution. Wished I had the money to buy one years ago.

So disappointing

2

I bought 2 of these from PBK. We travelled from Australua to Spain and Italy. The bike packs well but the castors were poorly fitted and three came off in transit and ball-bearings came out too. Looks a very poor assembly by the factory. Nuts were loose and appeared only hand tightened. I am now in Italy travelling with only 7 castors and will need to try and find replacements.

Soft travel case

5

I have a Scicon hardcase, and it is excellent - but my new bike has aero handlebars with all internal cabling (brakes and Di2) and the way the cables route through the steering stem means you cannot rotate the handlebars around to the extent required to fit it into the hard case. It is also a major operation to disconnect all the cables to be able to remove the bars. This will become a more widespread issue for people as the new premium bikes all migrate to integrated cabling. The soft case however, allows you to retain the handlebars in position, as well as the peddles and seat with stem. In fact, with only taking the wheels off, this is soooo easy to pack the bike and unpack ready for use. Absolutely no tools required! I test packed it today, ready for a trip to New Zealand in a few weeks. I was ecstatic at how quick and easy it was to pack - much easier than the hard case. The flip side of course is I don't expect it to take airline abuse very well, so here's hoping Air NZ baggage handlers are nice to me and my S-Works Venge Vias!

I was pleased with the quick postage/delivery to Australia and the way this item was packaged. Good value for money purchase at Probikekit pricing too. Thanks!

Good Quality but tight fit

4

I have not yet travelled with this case but upon first bike fitting it was very tight. I have a 61cm frame and had to undo the stem and rotate the bars before I could even get close to fitting. There is considerable strain on the zippers when closing them up. It will be interesting to see how it travels. Overall, it's well constructed and looks to be of high quality. I'm happy with it so far. For novelty sized bikes it might be a better fit. :)

Best soft case on the market!

5

It really doesn't get easier than this: wheels off, bike in, tighten straps, zip up, fly out. No wonder many Pro Tour teams and riders use these bags. Would recommend this bag to anyone, it really is the best option out there at the moment!

Excellent bag. Road bike fits in it perfectly. All you have to do is just remove the wheels off the bike. Really simple. Would highly recommended.
