Fit like a glove
Speedy delivery. The product was great. Tested on my 25mm tyre it is very light. Just need to inflat it everyday. Love this!
Another use for latex.
Good product ,.just take care fitting them , they can pinch easily , apart from that , as with another product , great feel.
Latex tube
Tubes fitted easily, noticed a difference immediately faster acceleration, more grip in corners. Well worth the upgrade. Only downside have to pump up before each ride.
Great tubes
These are fine tubes. I've been riding latex exclusively for 10 years, and these for about 5. They have lower rolling resistance than butyl, and things like goathead thorns, staples, tacks, wires, etc will usually not penetrate. Stop and pull out the object and keep riding. Much more difficult to pinch flat also. Put enough air in them to give them shape. Powder the tube and inside of tire with talc. Check to make sure tube is fully inserted in the tire. Else the tube will get pinched and eventually push the bead off (boom!), possibly at a very bad time! Also make sure the stem is pulled out and the base of the stem is tight against the tire before inflating, else the base of the stem will eventually distort and fail. They lose pressure at ~1%/hr rate. Typical of latex.
Vittoria latex tubes
Had been using Michelin latex tubes for the last couple of years, which had performed very well but after getting some Vision Metron55 wheels that would require the use of valve extenders I wanted tubes which removable cores to allow easy access to the valve. Unfortunately the Michelin’s valves can’t be removed so enter the Vittorias which do! Can’t comment on their durability yet as I’ve only done a limited mileage so far.
Great!
The Good: hands down faster than butyl. Love them paired with Vittoria open corsas. The bad: a bit finnicky to install. Also needs to be pumped daily as the are prone to lose pressure but i rally dont mind that. The ugly: they look like intestines . I only wish they were sized to accommodate both 23-25 tyres instead of one size for 23 and another for 25
Revelation
Heard about latex tubes years back, never gave them much more thought owing to price and *ahem running continental Gatorskin s. They were picky about tyre pressures and to be fair I was a bit of a cycling noob So perhaps that explained puncture rates. Not terrible but enough to put me off pricey tubes. There's plenty of info out there putting you off latex tubes, perhaps that's old style tubes. But some people do rave about them, and frankly at this price, they are worth a shot. In conclusion, they are just incredible, firstly they look and feel like quality, immediately your excited unboxing them. Fit carefully, note I never used talc, but will do next time. Inflate carefully and jump on your rig. Totally transforms your ride, responsive, quick (feels quick anyway) and comfortable. Must admit I came back for more. Seems latex tubes are one of these best kept cycling secrets. Great service from Probikekit too, glad to see they still stock.
Vittoria Latex Road Inner Tube
I riding my bike almost every day averaging ~300 km ~ 200 miles per week. I have this latex tubes for a month now. Every single day I had to check the pressure an adjust it. After a while it's just getting annoying. Yesterday when I was having my dinner, my inner tube on the front wheel exploded. I just got home 30 minutes before. I can't help thinking about how lucky I am. I trust my bike and I have no fear going over 80 km/h ~ 50 miles/h when I have a chance. No sign of any kind of damage on my Conti 4000S II. I would not recommend this clearly defective product to anyone! It can kill you! Luckyly I just bought 2 pcs. The other one from my rear wheel went straight to the garbage. Hope it helps. Ride safe!
