I got the rs81s to replace my rs20s and on my timed rides I'm 4to5mins quicker the light rims smash the hills to yep I like these rims mate
Great lightweight wheels. Fitted perfectly and ran true. Three weeks and 600ks later still running true and without any problems.
A new bike isn't in the budget at the moment however I thought a new set of rims to replace the Bontragers on the aging Trek might help it keep rolling for another couple of seasons. After a bit of research I decided on the Shimano C24's and I couldn't be happier. They arrived in good time, took little time to fit despite my mediocre bike mechanic skills and seemed to be straight and true out of the box. Another big plus for me was the fact I could roll new tyres on without the aid of levers which was something I couldn't do with the old rims. I can't say with any certainty that they've made the bike any quicker but they certainly ride extremely smooth and quiet even on some pretty rough roads. To sum up, I would happily recommend these rims for training or racing, they look nice, have faultless braking and they have honestly made my bike feel like new again.
I received a set of these for an upcoming race last September and the rear wheel was out of true out of the box. I rode on them twice and it got a lot worse so I took it to the LBS and they trued it and then i rode it again and it went out of true again. I have had it trued 3 times and after each ride it goes back to being badly out of true so I gave up on it and bought a Dura Ace C24 rear and it rides perfectly. I emailed support about it and didn't get a response. The front wheel is fine but the rear is defective.
I ummm'd and Rrrrrrr'd about wheels for ages but when these came along at the price I couldn't refuse the offer....and I am very very glad I bought them, light, roll fantastically and more importantly make me want to get out there and ride hills...
