keep crud off yer back

Really good piece of kit that does exactly as it should. A bit of a palaver to install and can have an irritating rub but other than that great.

GREAT fenders!

5

Great fenders for road bikes! No matter is it classic steel one or new carbon geometry, these mudgurds are easy to install, maintance and do what they are made for - keep the dirt away from you or your bike. The lightest ones also on the market!:)

I really want these to work well and they do for the most part. I have WSD Trek Madone 4.5 size 52 so the seattube is shorter than mens bikes. The fender piece that fits behind the seattube and under the brake is to long. I had to trim about 2 inches from it, drill a hole, then attach. However, because it's trimmed, and I just sawed it straight across, it doesn't fit snug with the attaching screw to the next portion of the fender, even with the zip tie to the seattube. When riding, this piece shifts, then rubs on the tire. I've removed this portion and ridden along fine, but miss the advantage of not having dirt and spray hit the seattube. So, there you have it. Since there are options for the tail piece, an option for this portion of the back fender would be nice for a shorter bike.

About as good as a Universal fender set can be

4

This set comes with multiple end pieces to tailor the front and rear fenders to your liking. It also comes with all the other pieces you will need to make them work. One small issue, which would be common on any universal set of fenders, is tire clearance. These mount under the brakes and are zip-tied to the brake mounting bolts between the brake cantilever and the frame. If you have special integrated brakes, or a very, very small gap between the top of your tires and the brake cantilevers, then these will not work for you. I am running around 1.5mm of clearance between the tires and the fenders under the brakes on my bike, and these fenders are around 3 mm thick, so you can do the math there. Keep in mind: I run 25mm tires, so 23's will probably allow more clearance for me, and probably for you too. Overall, I'm very happy with these for my bike, but I am only running them in winter months, when the roads are nasty.

splish splash

Well, they are pretty thin and won't last long under anything but the lightest weather. Which arguably is their intended use. My plastic cracked after 2 months, the felt pieces de-laminated with the rain, and generally only provided about 60% coverage of important areas. Never the less, it never claims to be robust and its not terribly expensive, so verdict: generally favourable.

Well designed mudguards

5

The mudguards require basic assembly before fitting using the instructions provided. It is advisable to protect your frame with electrical tape before mounting the stays. You need to have enough clearance on your frame and forks. I had to switch from 25 to 23 tyres to fit them to my carbon road bike and swap the front brake calliper for a less chunky one. It was worth it though as I can now enjoy long distance endurance events whatever the weather and the mudguards look great.

Excellent product

The fenders are light, silent and resilient to bending. They are practically invisible on my bike. Most importantly, however, there is no more water spraying on my back or feet.

Does the job!

5

Once I got my head around the instructions (I recommend the on line video) they were easy to fit and so far are doing the job well. Very light too.
