While most will recognize the tubular wheels as the go-to choice for top professional riders, the fact remains that tubular tyres are less practical than clinchers for those of us not fortunate enough to have a support car with spare wheels following behind. Now, thanks to some diligent work by Campagnolo engineers, there will be no more reason to sacrifice performance for tyre security as the Bora wheel family is now available in clincher version in addition to the tubular version seen in the pro-tour.
The graphic application was also studied and a new method was utilized which allows Campagnolo to apply the logos via water transfer thus avoiding heavier adhesives. This too represents a weight savings of nearly 15 grams in addition to a cleaner and more durable aesthetic quality.
Weight is further reduced thanks to a smaller profile front hub applied to this new Bora design. Campagnolo engineers were able to reduce the weight and size of the hub while maintaining all of the performance characteristics of the previous version. In other words, the same fantastic Bora performance in a smaller package.

On arrival , the wheels were good however, the experience was affected by the slow delivery, particularly the transit of the items through Australian Customs (the slowest part)
Done around 600km on the wheels and are very happy. Came in under weight at 1440g. Have used 404's before and the Bora's feel fairly similar above 38-40km/h. They are slightly more affected by cross winds, but I'm only 65kg and have no trouble in strong winds. Breaking is good even in the rain which I did not expect. Hubs spin great (one of the main reasons I went Campy) and the ride is excellent as I run 10psi lower in each wheel compared to standard rims.
Great wheels, arrived in top condition, no damage. Only issue was slow customs and having to pay a fee for them to be released. I will definitely be back.
Having upgraded from Fulcrum Racing Zeroes to the Bora One 50's I was expecting a lot! These wheels do deliver! They roll even better than the Zeros (which is saying something). They slice through the wind and are a joy to ride. My 80 kilos still feels secure on the 15-20% gradients and still keep up with those mountain goats on dedicated climbing wheels. Though on the descents and flats, they wind up with less resistance leaving the rest behind. In the past my Fulcrum Zeros would roll faster than the Dura-ace and Mavics on the same descent (same bike), these exceed that. Braking takes a moment to kick in, but then again they are carbon rims. Hitting 80-90kmph downhill, they are smooth and fast out of the corners, a joy indeed!
