Fast, safe and comfortable – guaranteed!

The CONTACT is the jack-of-all-trades amongst city and trekking tyres. Its tread design is based upon the principles of bionics. A uniform center tread/belt assembly ensures a smooth and speedy ride on the road. Flexible shoulder lugs and fine sipes guarantee grip in curves and on loose surfaces. The overall tyre construction rounds off the overall high quality. The ultra fine carcass fabric reduces the rolling resistance while providing a noticeably more comfortable ride. Available in reflective and non-reflective versions.

Nice tyres

Total :

I was surprised that they arrived in a wheel sized box. I hadn't noticed that they weren't folding tyres. However they have a nice tread that grips well on all surfaces. I wanted them to convert my old road bike to a bike I can use on the local rail trails (gritty surface). So, apart from being a bit harder to fit onto the rims because of them being a little less flexible, I am really pleased with them. They still run well on road surfaces and don't slow the bike down. Our local roads are a bit iffy in any case and so the wider tyre and slightly heavier tread give good grip there too. I did slow the whole process down by mounting the first one in the wrong direction, so take care to find the little arrows on the sidewall! All in all I am very pleased with them.

I commute to work every day whether it is rainy or sunny. I have tried a few tyres over the years but none are a patch on these. They are grippy in the e wet, tough and roll nicely. The reflective strip on the side is nice and bright for those dark winter nights. The price is great and the tyres are great, I love these tyres!

Not made in Germany

Total :

Tyres arrived very shiny in a ridiculously large wheel box. Even though these Conti's are wired beaded they can be coaxed into wrapping up into themselves which may have made shipping cheaper for PBK, and not lead me to think they'd posted out a wheel set instead! Shiny, very shiny - and slippery! These tyres have been made in India and seem to have sweated oil through to the external layer. I think this may be normal as new motorcycle tyres can be greasy to begin with too. Anyhow, it's starting to wear off and they're proving to be sound, forgiving, inspiring and dependable enough for a commuter bike. My first set, so time will tell. Not so light, but not so heavy either considering their size and beading.

Conti Contact 2

These are a commuter-bike standard with good grip. They look solid on the 700C rims and have a reasonable tread pattern. Over time will see how they wear. Only 85psi max pressure so a tad more comfortable ride. Good value at PBK.
