Castelli have re-engineered every aspect of the Free Aero Race Kit Bib Shorts. Now more comfortable and aerodynamic than ever before, the shorts are incredibly comfortable and improve muscle support without constriction.
The Giro Air leg bands provide increased stretch and distribute stretch and compression over a wide area. Vortex dimpled fabric on the legs improves aerodynamics while the 30% Lycra® body construction offers excellent stretch.
The Progetto X2 chamois features an all new soft surface fabric for supreme comfort and increased airflow. Additional features include a Carré yoke which makes the bib straps lie completely flat for comfort, flat-lock stitching and reflective details at the back. - A.D.

Close but not quite
Sizing is slightly small in length. Straps feel slightly too short, even in riding position. Legs have some compression as described. Is it too much? I don't know without a size larger for comparison. Felt fine on first ride other than straps. Leg grippers are outstanding. Chamois was OK after 2 hours, but not great - certainly not deserving of the rave reviews it gets. I'm 6' 180 lbs and these are size L.
They are more comfortable!
Having worn Castelli Free Aero Shorts for several years now I can say without a doubt "They are the best bibs I've ever worn", and so, when it came time for a new pair of bibs of course these were my bibs of choice. I was excited to see what changes had been made to my Fav's.....so when they arrived I immediately noticed three things: 1) New design shoulder straps - This design improves on the old by allowing the straps to lie flat over your shoulders "all the time"....much more comfortable. 2) New lycra composition over other the legs and lower abdomen.....this new composition definitely feels more comfortable and "fast" on the skin - Warning however, it's so comfortable you will need to be wary of the subconscious urge to just randomly start caressing your own legs (it's fine at home BUT not in the cafe!) 3)New design Progetto X2 Air seat pad - this was always my favourite thing about the Free Aero Bibs as no matter how long you ride for it is JUST AWESOME....first impression was "they've made it thicker" and "Increased the dimpled feel" - Hmmmmm not sure how that is going to go - BUT as soon as I put them on WOW!, they've improve what I didn't think could be improved. UNFORTUNATELY (for me) on only my 3rd ride in these new improved bibs I was knocked off my bike at 50kph and they were "Completely Shredded!" So it goes without saying that I'll be replacing them ASAP! As always remember to buy a "size up" with Castelli. BUY them you won't be disappointed!!!!!!
