Wind resistant cycling jacket designed by Castelli. This zip fastened jacket blends technical materials and precise design to create an advanced cycling jacket, ideal for intense activity.

The jacket is constructed using Castelli's 'Windstopper® 150 fabric', which provides a comfortable fit thanks to its windproof and water-resistant properties. The material also comes equipped with a four way stretch fabric, for maximum flexibility and a wide field of movement. This jacket also sports an articulated collar, designed specifically to give a snug fit whether standing or riding.

The 'Alpha' jacket is further bolstered by the addition of a silicon gripper at the waist, ensuring the jacket does not ride up. - O.S.

Does just what it's meant to

I received the jacket on Monday just after I'd already been out for my pre-work ride and was itching to see whether the jacket really lived up to the hype. The fit of the jacket is snug on the body, but the shoulder and arms aren't restrained in any way. It felt strange to do one zip up at the front and then have to do another one up but I was nice and snug as I stepped outside this morning using it for the first time. On the upper part of my body I was wearing a short sleeved, non-thermal base layer and the Alpha jacket. The temperature was about 6C so just about right to see what it was like. After setting off at just gone 06:00, my temperature rose a bit and then seemed to stay at a constant pleasant temperature - not too warm and not too cool. The route then started to ascend for some miles and I started to warm up...time to test the jacket's functionality and I unzipped the outer jacket halfway. Usually this would result in a blast of frigid air onto a damp base layer, resulting in an expression of shock on my face. Today I just started to cool down gently....not suddenly. Big tick in the box for that one. Halfway through the route it starts to descend and then flatten out. As I started to descend I zipped up the front of the jacket....nice and snug again, not too warm, not too cool. Another big tick! By the time I got home after being out for just over an hour I was just as snug and comfortable as I had been when I left home. It did rain slightly but not enough to test the water repellency of the jacket so I can’t comment on that but having another Castelli jacket that states they are water repellent, I already know that to be true. An AWESOME jacket. Yes…the price is quite high but then so are MANY other quality, well designed technical jackets by well established, cycle clothing manufacturers. In my opinion this jacket is well worth the investment; and it is an investment as it will last for years. It’s not a jacket that will be used day in day out, year round… but when the weather conditions are right, you’ll be more than glad you got it. I know I am.
