The Grand Prix 4000S II boasts global appeal as the best all round race bike tyre on the market. Not only is it fast and super grippy, thanks to its state of the art BlackChili rubber compound, but it is also tough with a healthy tread layer and of course Continental's Vectran anti puncture breaker layer underneath. So for reliability, longevity and all out performance for your race machine, the GP 4000S II is the only choice.
How are these figures possible? The carbon filler particles within the rubber compound are reduced to 1/10th of the size of standard carbon particles. This creates a closer knit with the particles having more points of contact with each other, thus forming a tighter bond, (increasing mileage performance) and also with the road (increasing grip). Also the way in which the particles interact with each other has a dramatic effect on reducing rolling resistance. Black Chili is used by several ProTour and Continental teams as shown opposite.
The all new Vectran breaker belt, developed and patented by Continental, surpasses even the famous puncture resistance of the former leader in this category, the GP3000. The extremely strong Vectran fabrics are more flexible and lighter than all other puncture protection materials. Vectran offers more resistance to cuts than Aramid, is five times as strong as steel and features less weight than a nylon double breaker. It also maintains strength in the wet.

Very reliable service matches a very reliable Tyre Thank you
Always an excellent product and as described. Postage time to Australia on this occasion was nearly 5 1/2 weeks which was lengthy in my opinion.
I have usedConti for years. Very hard wearing but also very quick.
Since they've been installed these tyres have provided a great riding experience on the road. They're still quite new but no punctures, good contact with road surface, and rolls nicely. It's hard to find a tyre in the 650C size and these are a great option in a limited range. I found them hard to install and pinched a couple of tubes in the process but a hairdryer to the tricky areas softens up the rubber and makes it a little easier. Also, it may have been do to my rims or my lack of experience. Recommended
Very happy with my recent purchase of these tyres. Excellent performance.
Really nice rolling tyre. Reliable and excellent for training and racing.
I've been using the GP4000S 23mm tyres for years and have just swapped over to the 25mm. Great tyres in all conditions.
Early days in terms of kms but so far so good. According to Strava I went faster - and that was the point!
Had looked for a while at the conti GP 4000S but was waiting for a great price and also older Conti tyres to wear out. Well recently that event occurred and so purchased two tyres but also bought 25mm to replace the older 23mm ones. They are excellent. Sure footed in wet, better rolling than the smaller 23mm (friends cannot believe this) and a lower pressure gives a softer ride to the rear end. Cannot recommend them enough to others and wife now waiting for the upgrade to her 23mm Specialised tyres.
After about 1000ks the tyre developed a side wall split. I did some research and realised that this is a common defect with the tyre. I'm off the conti's ftom now on.
Have never ridden on 25mm Tyres before but found them very comfortable on rougher roads with 110 psi. They roll great and to date cannot fault them.
My favourite tyres by a handy distance. Roll fast , good puncture resistance and they last well. The right mix.
happy with that, comfort, speed ,reliable, thanks
Have used these on gravel roads and rough/potholed roads. Good grip in wet or dry and no punctures. You cant go wrong with these tyres.
Purchased these tyres to try out with latex tubes after having to ditch my 25mm Vittoria's due to frame rub. The 25mm Vit's were fantastic at the price, so the Conti's have an uphill battle. First ride, I had too much pressure in them, they felt hard, thin and jittery. Certainly uncomfortable. A bit of water on the road made me very nervous. Second ride, I dropped them by 5psi front and rear and they felt better. More comfortable, more certain on the road. In terms of rolling resistance, with the latex tubes in, they seem very close to the 25s.
these tyre are fantastic, minimal punctures, good grip, last a long time, I always use these.
Great tire with low road resistance and excellent comfort from the 28mm. Making riding my new bike a great experience.
This is my go to tyre for all my road bikes. It is a good balance of grip, rolling resistance, puncture protection and durability. I'm not convinced that it is any better than the old 4000s and it's more expensive but given I can't get the 4000s any more these are the replacement.
What else you gonna use? The best you can get. Plus easy, breezy service and delivery!
Our cycling group has been buying the Continental 4000S tyres for a number of years now and swears by them, as do I. They have low rolling resistance and low puncture rate. Has to be something nasty to get through the protection built into the tyre. A great tyre for everyday use, racing or commuting....
