Fourth Hand is great
This tool, commonly called a Fourth Hand, works just as planned on my old school Mafac Competition centerpull brakes. It also works on the new school brakes and derailleurs.
Pedro's Fourth Hand tool
I'd been looking to buy one of these for a while but wasn't willing to spend on something that is so specific in use. My LBS guy recommended Pedro's so I picked one up from ProBike as they had the best price. Although it doesn't look like much this is an exceptional piece of kit to have - I used it on the rim brakes on my Charge Plug single speed. After fiddling about for about 3 minutes, I set up the front and back brakes millimetre perfect in about 50 seconds. Remember all the hassle you had washing a chain before you used a Chain Cleaner? This does the same for brakes. If you want to save on brake pad wear and stop more efficiently, get one and use it.
